New World, a breathtaking creation by choreographer Robert Binet, unfolds as a symphony of elemental forces colliding at the dawn of the universe.
In collaboration with visionary scenographer Shizuka Hariu, Binet's New World transports audiences into a futuristic realm where dancers' movements are reflected in shimmering mirrors and stark stone structures. At the climax of the performance, a transformation unfolds as a lush cloud adorned with flowers emerges, symbolising the arrival of a new era. Hariu's scenographic juxtaposition of futuristic minimalism and natural beauty mirrors the thematic depth of choreographic vision, offering a rich tapestry for the movement, music, and lighting to intertwine seamlessly. As the stage transforms before our eyes, New World promises an immersive journey through time and space, where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur into a mesmerising dance of creation.

Inspired by the ethereal compositions of Nico Muhly, Binet masterfully weaves together the elements of fire, water, earth, and air, infusing his choreography with a dynamic tension between light and darkness. Drawing on Muhly's evocative pieces - Four Studies, Honest Music, and Quiet Music- Binet crafts a narrative that transcends time, melding the ancient tale of creation with contemporary sensibilities. Renowned for his visionary approach, Binet is hailed as one of the most promising talents of his generation, having honed his craft as a Choreographic Apprentice at the Royal Ballet in London and currently serving as Choreographic Associate at the National Ballet of Canada.
